Painting with the Father

Since October I've gotten my desire to paint back after
Since then I have been painting as I never have before.
It's much more personal.
For the past 6-8 years I've had no desire to pick up a paint brush.
And even before then I had struggled with what to paint...it was always
something someone else had wanted..not necessarily something I had wanted, or enjoyed
painting. I like to copy others work as practice and became quite good at it..
but, it wasn't my work. My initial idea.

I've read some on prophetical painting (painting with the
Holy Spirit) and since October I've been practicing. Praying
before hand for God to give me images as I listen to
praise music....mostly Jason Upton.
His music is so passionate and beautiful..

Isabella has also been doing as I have done..
I have her pray to herself and paint what she sees or
is feeling God is telling her..here is one of her paintings and
a drawing from a few weeks ago..

My latest project

I recently started making camera straps and may have found my new love! They are so simple, yet so enjoyable to make. After making one for myself and my sister I now want to make a whole collection. Off to the right of here you will see a picture of the one I made for my sister, if you click on it, it will link you to my etsy shop where you can purchase one! Here's a photo shoot...

I'm feeling led to start yet another blog. Another you might ask?? Yes, this is the 3rd. I do love to write you know. The first blog AdventuresofIzandEl was geared only towards my children. The name of your blog should, I feel, have a lot to do with what you are writing about. It is however a title. Well as I continued writing on AdventuresofIzandEl it started becoming more about my life, our life at home, etc. So I started anew on AmyLou. After writing on AmyLou for a while God placed it on my heart to start Abiyah. I wanted a place I could retreat to. A place I could journal about my spiritual life and my walk with Christ. I also wanted a place to keep track of all my creative doings.

We declared at the beginning of the year, this was a year for change. God has moved in our lives in so many ways in the last 3-4 years. Since I am leaving my job and leaving my future up to Him, it's going to be a time of learning to trust and lean. So this will be a place for me to journal as I find my place as an artist and how that connects to the One that owns my heart and soul...

Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. James 1:17

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive and inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. Colossians 3:23-24

Abiyah
Hebrew.
meaning "Yahweh is my father."
In the bible, this is the name of a son of Samuel,
the mother of Hezekiah,
a member of the tribe of Benjamin,
a king of Judah,
and several other characters.
